About Our Facility
The Essa & District Agricultural Society offers an outdoor and small indoor venue suitable for a wide range of events.

Our spacious property of 100 acres boasts a host of amenities available at affordable rates.
We operate seasonally from April to November, but we can also accommodate special winter rentals depending on the event requirements.
The Outdoor Areas
- Sprawling 100 acre property featuring different terrains such as paved parking areas, gravel and grass
- 5 sheltered barns, each spanning 18,900 sq ft. and fully equipped with water and power outlets
- Open grass areas suitable for sporting events, tent setups, picnicking, vendor layouts and more
- Fully gated property with surveillance, lighting, paved and a fully painted parking lot
- 7 Horse Rings that vary in size and footing with either fibre or sand
- Fully function clay pull track lined with bleachers (option of shaded bleachers for an extra charge)
- 24 concrete wash stalls featuring hot water access

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Wifi is available to Event Organizers in the Show Office only.
Because of our location, service can be unpredictable. Plan to use your own data plan to access the internet. Keep in mind, you may find your service to be spotty.
The best option is to plan to operate without internet access, unless you are an Event Organizer inside the Show Office.
Washrooms are rented by the Event Organizer for each show, per day.
The number of days that washrooms are rented and available to show attendees is determined by the Event Organizer.
If the washrooms are not available while you are on site, please speak to the Event Organizer.
Hotels within a 15 minute drive of the Essa Agriplex:
As the Event Organizer, you are required to research and obtain ALL needed permits from the Township of Essa for your event.
We are not affiliated with the Township of Essa, and may not be able to provide accurate information regarding required permits. Please contact the Township of Essa directly for details on your event.
The Essa Agriplex runs 3 shows each year: Spring Showdown, Essa National Draft Horse Show and The Barrie Fair. Details about these events are listed on our website.
The Essa Agriplex is also a venue available for rent by third parties to run their own events. Questions about those events must be directed to the Event Organizer for that event. We do not have current information on third party events.
