Current members of the Essa & District Agricultural Society are strongly encouraged to attend our annual AGM on Tuesday February 20th 2018 at 6:30pm at the Best Western Royal Oak Inn in Barrie. This is a great opportunity to share your feedback and contribute to the future plans for the Essa Agriplex.
With the season wrapped up, and the facility beginning to shut down for the winter, the Essa Agriplex is looking for volunteers to come in and help with a final collection of garbage, to keep our grounds beautiful. This year at the Agriplex, we are offering sheltered storage space. If you are interested in learning more about the storage possibilities that you can take advantage of, contact Dave or Ryan in the office at (705) 726-1200.

You don’t need a lot of time to help at the Fair. Even a couple of hours makes a difference!

One of the most fabulous and impressive draft horse
shows happens every year on the August long weekend at the Essa Agriplex.
The Essa National Draft Horse Exhibition showcases the Belgian, Clydesdale and Percheron Breeds. This year will be no different with impressive 6 Horse and 8 Horse Hitch Classes that are surely not to be missed!
You can watch the draft horse show, grab some lunch and peruse the Essa Township Community Yard Sale happening undercover on the Saturday of the Show!
The Essa & District Agricultural Society is a buzz planning all the upcoming events for the 2017 season!
The Annual General Meeting will be held on February 21, 2017 at Liberty North, 100 Caplan Ave., Barrie. Registration begins at 6:30pm and the AGM will commence at 7:00. Please attend this important meeting.
2017 Membership applications are available in the office and online. You can print the application or save and complete on your computer.
We are excited to offer a new Non-Voting Membership to those individuals who volunteer their time at the Barrie Fair. This membership is free with a commitment to volunteer 4+ hours at the fair.
1. Non Voting Membership 18+
A non-voting membership is offered free of charge to REGISTERED volunteers of the Barrie Fair who volunteer 4+ hours at the fair. All volunteer positions can be found at www.essaagriplex.ca or in the office. 2. Voting Membership 18+
Voting Members are 18 and over. In order for Members to vote at the Annual Meeting, they must be members in good standing both for the year for which such annual meeting is held, and for the proceeding calendar year.Memberships are $15.00 or $10.00 for a renewal. 3. Junior/Special Needs
A junior is considered under 18 years old as of January 1st, 2017. Special Needs are exhibitors in the Special Needs departments of the Home Crafts Division. These memberships are free of charge and do not have voting privileges. 4. Family (2 adults, 2 juniors)
A Family Membership gives 2 voting memberships and 2 junior memberships for a combined price of $25.00 for new and $15.00 renewal

Get on those midway rides with your friends! Best time to go? Definitely the evening! The rides look awesome with all the lights! Advanced Midway tickets are available in the office for $23.00 (regularly $30) until August 23rd. Come and get em’!
Get out to the Pull Track! Watching the exciting events at the Essa Agriplex Pull Track is a great way to gear up for some midway fun! If you are really into getting involved, why don’t you and your friends enter the demolition derby?
Enter the Ambassador Competition. Almost my favorite competition at the fair (soft spot for the horse shows) The ambassadors are amazing and the competition is FUN!

Teen Coffee House, Presented by the Barrie Library: Love to get up on stage and sing? Sign up for the Coffee House happening on the main stage, Saturday August 27th at 6:30pm. Don’t delay with this one! Only 20 slots available – [email protected]starting Monday, August 15th with your name, age and details of what you would like to perform. Each performer will have a maximum of 5 minutes.
RCMP Musical Ride… no better way to feel love for this great country than to watch the famous and iconic musical ride… Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 and 4:30pm
