    Volunteer Role: Barrie Fair Ambassador Program Coordinator
    Location: Essa Agriplex, Thornton, ON
    Time Commitment: 10+ / month
    Reports To: Barrie Fair Committee


    Role Overview

    The Barrie Fair is seeking a passionate and organized Ambassador Program Coordinator to lead and manage the Ambassador Program. This position will oversee our youth representatives who serve as Ambassadors, representing the fair both before, during and after the event. The coordinator will play a pivotal role in promoting community engagement, supporting Ambassadors, and ensuring the program runs smoothly.


    Key Responsibilities

    1. Program Development and Coordination:
      • Plan and manage all aspects of the Ambassador Program, including recruitment, training, and scheduling.
      • Develop a timeline of key events and responsibilities for Ambassadors.
    2. Recruitment and Training:
      • Assist in the selection process for Ambassadors.
      • Organize orientation and training sessions to prepare Ambassadors for their roles.
    3. Leadership and Support:
      • Act as the primary point of contact for Ambassadors, providing guidance and addressing their questions.
      • Ensure Ambassadors understand their duties, including fair promotion, greeting guests, and assisting with event activities.
    4. Event Promotion and Representation:
      • Coordinate Ambassador participation in community outreach and promotional events leading up to the fair, and following the fair.
      • Equip Ambassadors with promotional materials and ensure consistent messaging.
    5. Onsite Fair Management:
      • Supervise Ambassador activities during the fair, ensuring they are fulfilling their roles.
      • Manage schedules, troubleshoot issues, and provide onsite support.
    6. Program Evaluation:
      • Collect feedback from Ambassadors and other stakeholders to assess the program’s impact.
      • Create a summary report with recommendations for future program improvements.

    Qualifications

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Leadership experience, preferably in volunteer or program coordination.
    • Familiarity with the Barrie community and enthusiasm for agricultural fairs.
    • Event planning experience is an asset but not required.
